Dance Teacher
Rinus Cannegieter
A passionate dancer which has his roots in Curaçao, where there’s a lot of talent, started dancing breakdance and hip hop to rebel against the cultural dances from the islands. But after having danced a lot of years in discotheques, he was brought back to his roots after losing a bet about dancing salsa where he fell in love again with the dance.
After learning and teaching a few years in Eindhoven he started out Salsa RiCa (the first 2 letters of his name) in Belgium with a few friends. He started his own showteam and won also the Dutch Open Salsa Championships, teams divisions.
Having performed all over Europe he decided that it was time to really focus on the region of Geel and Turnhout, and with all the knowledge he gathered by dancing and training with the best teachers in the world, he is now spreading the passion of the Latin dance in Belgium for everyone to enjoy.
So welcome to Salsa Rica and start enjoying the Latin dance as they do in Latin America!

Donato Rizzi

For five years, he honed his salsa skills at Bailando dance school in Halen. In 2009, he further broadened his dance repertoire, learning Cuban salsa with Ritmo Latino in Genk and LA-style salsa with Bas, Laili, and Jeroen. Joining the Salsa Rica Dance Company in 2014 marked another significant milestone in his dance career. His love for dance didn't stop at salsa, as he started learning Bachata at Elance in Stein six years ago and Kizomba with Michaelis eight years ago. Today, Donato Rizzi is a seasoned dancer, known for his diverse dance styles, from the energetic salsa to the sensual Bachata and rhythmic Kizomba, bringing a unique blend of passion, skill, and creativity to the dance floor.

Dance Assistant
Sara Boi

Dance Teacher
Cathleen Van der Lee-Haarloo
Motto (in life, or in dancing ;-)): To achieve things in life: stay positive, try hard, give it your best and keep smiling even if you having a bad day or a rough time. Always stay yourself!
Dance History: I started dancing in around 1998.
My very first love for dancing came from a video clip by Enrique Iglesias, with the song Bailamos when I was 16 years old. I was completely in love with the dancing in the clip and when I saw the dancers I thought: “I want to be able to dance like that too!”
With my best friend from school, I started learning Cuban salsa at Cees de Vroomen and after a few years I immediately continued with On1 at La Luna in Rotterdam. After a short dance break of 2 years, I slowly picked up dancing again and danced with SDS with Eric and Liduina for a number of years.
Learned and followed my first steps On2 at Marsies Mambo. From Xiomara with The Sjogirls I enjoyed my classes lady styling, learned a lot and loved the shows we danced with the girls.
Also had great dance adventures during the showtimes with Patrick Mussendijk Guateque (later returned to dance with Mambo Syndicate where I also learned from Liduina). After another year of dance break, I started my lessons at Poetic Motion where I made great friends and learned a lot about Cuban motion and patience with yourself.
At the moment I am dancing with the Guatique Girls and I am enjoying the trainings and performances with Irena.
I have had many examples and I have been able to learn from many great and good dancers with beautiful personalities. I really enjoy dancing in show groups and sharing my passion on stage with the audience. I also love to coach and support others during their learning path in dancing. It is so beautiful to see a dancer develop and to be able to pass on my passion for dance. I think dancing is a way of expressing emotion, creativity and art. I'm always open to feedback, learning more, learning others and I am always there with a listening ear and shoulder :)
